The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually pushed up the rate of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing successful too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
